Dr Breiner Marcell

Periodontist specialist

He is a periodontist, specialising in the treatment of gum and periodontal diseases. Profident's team

He graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, University of Szeged in 2017. He worked as a general dentist for one year and then started his residency training at Semmelweis University.

During his year as a general dentist, he gained insight into the oral surgery, conservative dentistry and dental prosthesis procedures, the endodontics. This broad insight enables him to work effectively with his colleagues on complex cases and full mouth rehabilitations requiring the coordinated work of multidisciplinary teams.

And what do you consider the main virtues of your profession? A periodontal treatments The main aim is to save teeth: if the pathological processes in the periodontium can be stopped or even reversed, there is a good chance that even teeth previously considered unsalvageable can be saved.
Periodontal treatments require a unique bond between doctor and patient, which requires building trust. In addition to good communication and thorough information, it is important to have complete attention, empathy and a touch of humour. With a cooperative patient, a full recovery is possible, but improvement is definitely achieved with procedures that require a lot of patience and perseverance. This is important in itself, as any intervention (implantation, tooth replacement, orthodontics etc.), it is essential that professionals build on a healthy or healthy foundation.

A periodontist can not only detect and eliminate pathological processes that have already started, but also help to maintain the results and even prevent them through oral hygiene advice. This requires persuasive power and professional confidence, because if the patient does not accept the doctor's advice and does not take the professional's instructions seriously, even the most sacrificial work is in vain.

Dr. Breiner is motivated by the fact that his profession is constantly challenging: since no two periodontal cases are the same, each intervention must be tailored to the individual. He is typically quick to assess the most appropriate procedure and surgical technique. But once the situation has been analysed, he changes pace: a periodontist's tendency to go into depth is not a disadvantage, he says, since many procedures are meticulous and long-lasting. Moreover, the fruits of the labour are slow to come to fruition, sometimes it takes months to know whether the treatment has been successful.

Periodontology is one of the most intensively developing and rather complex fields of dentistry, where the surgical line, the aesthetic direction and prevention/education are present at the same time. He has an insatiable curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, and he has it too: he educates himself with the help of professional articles and educational films, and regularly attends courses and training courses at home and abroad.
